How To Choose The Best Bread Machine

Store-Bought Bread Is. . .Well. . .Just Not As Good As Home-Baked Bread.

Have you looked at the ingredients list of a loaf of store-bought bread? It looks like listings from a drug store! Truthfully, there is a lot of stuff in commercial bread that we would be much better not putting into our bodies. If you want to eat healthfully, why not bake your own bread?

Okay, so you’ve made the decision to bake your own healthful, homemade bread and enjoy the aroma of a freshly baked loaf, but you don’t want the hassle of making it by hand. That’s fine, because there are many top quality bread baking machines on the market that can make superb bread very quickly. Thus, buying a bread maker is a fabulous idea. You not only get home-baked loaves of bread, but, because the machine does virtually everything for you, there’s very little work for you to do!

Bread machines offer a vast variety of options, prices, and features to choose from. So, it can be a little intimidating to choose the one that’s right for you, especially if this is the first bread maker you have purchased. The secret in choosing the best is to choose the one that best fits your needs.

Should you buy a cheap model or a more expensive model? Which features do you need? Which machines are known to last the longest? which ones die out the fastest? How large a loaf do you need to bake for your family? Which of these appliances will deliver that perfect loaf of bread time after time? So many questions to consider!

The price of a bread machine can range anywhere from $50 to over $200. Once you have determined the maximum price you would be willing to pay, you can narrow down your choices. Then it’s just a matter of finding out what features the individual machines offer.

Bread makers come in a variety of sizes, so choose one that you can store easily. You should choose the capacity of the bread maker based upon how big your family is and how much bread they eat. Keep in mind, though, that once they taste what comes out of your bread machine, their consumption of bread will probably increase.

All bread machines will perform the basics, such as baking a standard loaf of white or whole-grain bread. They offer a 1 LB loaf, and usually have timers.

As you are willing to pay more for a bread machine, you will be able to add additional features. Some of the features include different loaf sizes, delay timer, gluten-free setting, dough setting, viewing windows, rapid bake modes, programmable timers, programmable memory settings, automatic additional ingredients dispenser, different bread types, cool touch housing, light to dark crust settings, vertical or horizontal loaves, options to make cakes and jam, and much more.

To make sure you will be able to get service and replacement parts if necessary, take a close look at the warranty.

A bread maker is a wonderful addition to your home. No wonder they are so popular. The average person can make delicious, healthful, homemade bread quite easily with a bread maker. Nothing compares to the smell and taste of freshly baked bread from your very own kitchen.

Since I went gluten-free, I started baking my own bread at home. I love having a bread machine where I can dump the ingredients in at night before bed, and have a fresh loaf of bread waiting in the morning!

More and more technological devices make it easier to make healthy meals. It is almost impossible not to have some sort of appliance that help you cut onions without having to shed a tear or peel a potato or beetroot.

I love bread, especially the home-made kind. I like your post.

It took me forever to finally decide on the machine I would use for gluten free bread making, since that seems to be a little trickier to be successful with. I finally settled with the West Bend Bread Machine (I think it’s the one you have on your home page) – it works great and is easy to use and I’ve yet to have a loaf of bread that isn’t devoured within a few days :) I ultimately chose it because it seemed to have the most features for the most reasonable price. I love it!

I have recently made the decision to bake my own bread. As you say so much bread has far too many additives in nowadays. I am looking for a bread making machine and appreciate your advice.
