Being of italian background I know all the ins and outs about Panettone! There is also a chocolate coated version of panettone which is my favourite. I love eating toasted panettone with lots of butter on it... YUM!

You just slice it however thick you want, put it in the toaster and then smother it in butter...

You can also make panettone pudding if you want to get creative. My Nonna (grandmother) would slice it up thick, soak it in espresso coffee. Then she would line a big bowl with the panettone, fill it with custard and more panettone and sometimes would even put sliced peaches in it. Very YUM!

In a bread recipe, can you substiute self rising flour for the regular flour? rid of the salt?
Really great post, enjoyed reading it. Thanks,
Barry

What a wonderful recipe ! Christmas is the jolliest time of year. Everyone is waiting for Santa's reindeer. He will never get lost, no matter the cost. On Christmas St. Nick will be here. To make your Christmas more enjoyable be sure to prepare many of these recipes in advance when possible. Thank you.
